Welcome to my new series: “How I Spend Money”!
In this new series I’m going to blog about what I’m currently spending money on, and what activity is the focal point of the money, and if I can justify that money that I spent!
Today, I’m at home telecommuting to work. It’s a nice way to go since I save both time and money. Time is saved by the fact that I gain back an hour because I’m not on the road, and Money is saved by the fact that I’m not spending gas to travel to work! Usually for lunch, I frugally stay at home and eat what’s in the old fridge, but today we decided to break from the norm and go out to Panera Bread for lunch.
By we, I mean my two kids (my daughter and son) since my spouse is slaving away at where she works… (poor spousey…)
Right now, I’m typing this article as my son is on his computer and my daughter is playing my son’s iPod Touch. Since my computer is on mute, I’m patiently listening to my daughter slicing through some flying pieces of fruit while she plays Fruit Ninja. My son on the other hand is playing a game called Minecraft. Both are playing these games because I’m still writing this post (lol).
So since they are waiting for me to finish, I’ll cut to the chase!
Listed below are the meals and the corresponding prices that we had to pay.
- Son – Turkey Sandwich and Broccoli and Cheese Soup, and soda: $6.89 + $2.00
- Daughter – chicken nuggets and small adult frosty: $2.48
- Me – Chopped Chicken Cobb Salad with Avocado (love it!): $8.39 + $3.59
So I end up spending:
Not too bad and a fun treat (we don’t go that often).
So was it worth it? For an occasional treat, sure… If it were everyday, no.
