Lately, we’ve been working hard to trying and get ahead with our personal finances.
No wait, it’s not we, it’s me that working so hard to get ahead!
I’ve been pouring all of my time into work, investing and side business activities, possible so much that I’ve been missing too much lately. I think that perhaps I’ve been working too hard and let the summer slip by and neglected spending more time with my family. Money and wealth are nice, but it’s not the most important thing in life!
Each day kids are growing quickly in some way, and if you don’t stop to watch them a little each and every day, before you know it, they are adults and going to college, then work. You work so hard for your family, that you sometimes forget that they have other needs that just money. The trick is to get that magic balance where you enjoy your family and still make enough money for them and you to enjoy life to it’s fullest!
The problem is that it’s hard, and work doesn’t always understand. I know plenty of very (VERY) attractive people that are workaholics. You look at them, and they are stunning, single and not even dating. They are literally married to the job.
Don’t fall into the “working too hard” trap! Work hard, but remember to keep a balance! Money is just lifeless paper in the end, your family is you and you are part of them.
So I’ll take my own advice and scale back my work life for a while. Hopefully I won’t forget and lose focus on the balance!
